Plitvice Lakes is a scenic national park in Croatia, world-famous for its 16 crystal clear lakes, arranged in cascades and interconnected by waterfalls. The lakes are separated by natural dams of travertine. Wooden footbridges and walking trails link the lakes and the waterfalls.

The historic center of the town of Český Krumlov in Czech Republic has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage since 1992. According to UNESCO: "Situated on the banks of the Vltava river, the town was built around a 13th-century castle with Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque elements. It is an outstanding example of a small central European medieval town whose architectural heritage has remained intact thanks to its peaceful evolution over more than five centuries."
